Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Stephanie Guanche. I graduated from Florida State University with my Master of Social Work. I have been providing counseling to children, families, and young adults for several years. I am passionate about helping individuals reach their goals, aiding in the individual’s development of new skills, and providing quality care. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Some diagnoses and treatment areas I work with include ADHD, anxiety, DMDD/ODD, adjustment disorder, anger, and academic counseling, family counseling. We work hard together to reach your goals. Your goals are my goals, and I will do my best to help you get where you want to be!

My approach to therapy

Every person is unique. We have different hobbies and interests, different music taste, different ways of learning, and different ways of working. I try to utilize strategies and approaches that meet your individual needs and interests. Some approaches I like to try are play therapy methods, cognitive behavioral therapy methods, identifying and building your strengths, and narrative therapy. I like to do frequent check ins to discuss your opinion on your growth during our time together. Based off your check-ins, I can adjust our approach to treatment.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy is a brave first step! My hope for your first session is to create a welcoming environment that you will feel comfortable in. We will discuss your reason for seeking services, your goals for therapy, and collaborate to develop a plan specific to you to help you reach those goals. You set the pace, and I will ask questions to get to know you better and work to cater therapy around your needs. By working together, I hope you can gain confidence in your abilities to work through and potentially overcome the very things that bring you into counseling.
