Great to meet you!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my page and learn about who I am and the work I do with my client's. I have been in practice since 2001 and very much enjoy my job. I love to meet new people, hear about their journey in this life and the goals they have for the future. I consider it a joy and a privilege to help people meet their personal therapy goals and find the healing they desire. On a side note I will proudly admit that adolescents are my favorite.

My approach to therapy

I know that therapy is not easy. It takes work and determination to keep trying and not give in to doubt and despair. One goal that I have for all my clients is that they will feel accepted and know that grace and mercy abound. I use mostly a cognitive behavioral approach to explore your beliefs, and the feelings and behaviors that surface as a result of those underlying beliefs. I am not the best therapist for couples in high conflict. Please consider a therapist with Gottman certification.

What you can expect from me

I practice a very integrated model of therapy exploring the biological, psychological, social and spiritual side of the challenges at hand. I am a Christian and practice counseling from a Biblical perspective. This does not necessarily mean that we talk about the Bible directly, but I do hold to a biblical morality and try to encourage my clients to think about what is good, honorable, and healthy as they make decisions and try to overcome the obstacles they face in their lives. I have worked with people of many faiths, and no professing faith. If my client’s desire to talk about how their struggle impacts the spiritual aspect of their identity, I am pleased to incorporate that into their treatment. We all come from very unique spiritual and cultural backgrounds, and I strive to find the best treatment approach for each of my clients. We will explore your strengths, what you've already tried to do on your own, discover what encourages and empowers you, and discover the hope that helps you move forward and heal.
