Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome! I'm Stephanie Nunez, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and I'm honored to support you on your journey toward healing, growth, and self-discovery.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you feel comfortable being your authentic self while exploring your thoughts, emotions, and goals.

I have over three years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in community mental health and outpatient settings. I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have supported clients through a variety of emotional, behavioral, and relationship challenges.

I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation, and relationship difficulties. I also enjoy helping couples improve communication, rebuild trust, strengthen emotional connection, and create healthier patterns within their relationships.

My approach is collaborative and tailored to each person's unique needs. I incorporate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based techniques, and person-centered therapy. Together, we’ll focus on building practical coping skills, increasing self-awareness, and recognizing the strengths you already have.

I believe therapy is a space for growth, understanding, and meaningful change. My hope is that each session leaves you feeling heard, supported, and empowered to take steps toward the life and relationships you desire. Whether you're navigating a difficult season, healing from past experiences, or seeking personal growth, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

My approach to therapy

I am passionate about helping people navigate life's challenges while discovering their strengths and building meaningful, lasting change.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in both community mental health and outpatient settings. These experiences have allowed me to support clients from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of concerns, while providing individualized care that meets each person's unique needs and goals.

I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, emotional regulation, relationship concerns, and communication difficulties. I also enjoy working with couples who want to strengthen their relationship by improving communication, rebuilding trust, increasing emotional intimacy, and learning healthier ways to navigate conflict together.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I believe every person deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported in a space free of judgment. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness practices, and person-centered therapy to create a treatment plan tailored specifically to you.

Outside of therapy, I value balance, mindfulness, and continuous personal and professional growth. I believe healing happens through connection, curiosity, and self-compassion, and I strive to bring those values into every session. Whether you're seeking support during a difficult season, working through past experiences, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I'm here to help you feel empowered and confident as you move toward the life you envision.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy is a meaningful step, and my goal is for your first session to feel comfortable, welcoming, and focused on building a connection. Think of our first meeting as the beginning of a partnership where we get to know each other, explore what brought you to therapy, and start creating a path toward the changes you want to make.

During our first session, we’ll talk about your current challenges, personal experiences, relationships, strengths, and goals for therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your story and what has shaped you, while giving you the space to share at a pace that feels comfortable. You don’t have to have everything figured out before walking through the door—my role is to meet you where you are and help you take the next step.

Together, we’ll identify what matters most to you and begin creating a personalized treatment plan designed around your unique needs. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about my therapeutic approach, ask questions, and share what you need from therapy to feel supported.

Therapy is a journey, and meaningful change takes time. There is no expectation to share your entire story in one session—we’ll move at a pace that feels safe and right for you. My hope is that you leave your first appointment feeling heard, understood, and encouraged, knowing you have a supportive partner ready to walk alongside you as you work toward healing, growth, and becoming the best version of yourself.
