Great to meet you!

I'm Stephanie Patrick-Calvillo, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a genuine passion for helping people navigate their mental health journeys. I've spent over 15 years in healthcare, and what drives me every day is knowing that mental health challenges don't define you—they're just something we work through together.

My background includes treating adults and adolescents across various settings, from crisis care to long-term recovery programs. I've worked with individuals facing serious mental illness, mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, eating disorders, substance use concerns, and personality disorders. I also have specialized training in geriatric mental health and dementia-related behavioral changes.

What makes my approach unique is my extensive leadership experience overseeing psychiatric services across multiple facilities. This has taught me not just how to prescribe medication, but how to truly understand the whole person—your daily struggles, your support system, and your goals for feeling better. I take time to explore what's worked before, what hasn't, and why, because effective treatment is never one-size-fits-all.

I'm committed to evidence-based care while recognizing that healing happens differently for everyone. Some people benefit most from medication management, others from therapy integration, and many from a combination approach. I stay current with the latest research and treatment modalities, but I never lose sight of the fact that you're the expert on your own experience.

I believe everyone deserves compassionate, judgment-free care. Whether you're seeking help for the first time or you've been struggling to find the right treatment, I'm here to listen, understand your unique situation, and work collaboratively with you to find solutions that fit your life. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and hopeful about your path forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is founded on authentic partnership, clinical excellence, and steadfast respect for your personal journey. I am dedicated to providing expert psychiatric care with compassion and complete devotion to your wellbeing and growth.

From our first meeting, I focus on cultivating a relationship rooted in trust and open dialogue. I want you to feel at ease being fully transparent about your situation and struggles. I will listen attentively, affirm your experiences, and draw on my clinical expertise to chart a path forward together.

In medication management, I take a deliberate, individualized approach. I perform a thorough assessment of your symptoms, mental health history, treatment objectives, and prior medication experiences—then explore options openly, explaining how various medications work, what we are aiming to accomplish, and what side effects may arise. You have the right to complete information and thoughtful answers to every question you raise.

Discovering the right medication sometimes calls for patience, careful observation, and fine-tuning. I am committed to remaining actively involved throughout—checking in consistently, recognizing progress, navigating obstacles, and adjusting our approach when circumstances demand it. I never consider our work finished until you feel genuinely well, not merely better than before.

I practice holistic care that views you as a whole person. I examine how sleep patterns, stress levels, support systems, and lifestyle habits shape your mental health. I stay accessible between appointments and coordinate with your other providers when beneficial to ensure comprehensive, well-integrated care.

My goal is fostering meaningful improvement so you can live feeling more grounded, hopeful, and authentically aligned with who you are. You deserve nothing less than care as invested in your future as you are. And every day I show up for you, I carry the full measure of that commitment.

What you can expect from me

Our initial appointment provides an environment where you will feel sincerely recognized, valued, and heard without a trace of judgment. I appreciate that seeking mental health support requires bravery, and I respect that by offering caring attention from the very first moment.

We will focus on what has been weighing on you most—the symptoms or situations that brought you through the door. I will ask purposeful questions to understand your experience and how it is touching your relationships, professional life, daily patterns, and broader sense of wellbeing. We will go through your mental health background, including former diagnoses, treatments, medications, and past encounters with care. If earlier methods failed to produce the outcomes you needed, we will explore that candidly so we can chart a more effective course ahead. I will also inquire about your physical health, family mental health history, active prescriptions, and lifestyle considerations such as sleep, stress, and substance use.

When addressing medication management, I center clear dialogue and authentic collaboration. We will review the options at hand, how they zero in on your specific symptoms, what results you can reasonably expect, and possible side effects—all communicated in plain, approachable language so you feel both well informed and confident about where we are heading.

My extensive clinical background prepares me to engage with even the most layered presentations with precision and genuine empathy. Beyond the clinical assessment, our first appointment is focused on forming a bond built on trust and shared respect. We will set purposeful goals and design a personalized treatment plan constructed entirely around you.

By our session's close, you will feel affirmed, uplifted, and genuinely hopeful about the road that lies ahead. Follow-up appointments will be organized to guarantee smooth continuity of care.
