Your first session is not simply an intake. It is the beginning of a thoughtful, individualized understanding of what is happening in your life and why.
We will take time to understand what brings you to therapy, what you have been carrying, and what you want to change. I will listen carefully not only to what you tell me, but to the patterns, relationships, experiences, and adaptations that may be contributing to where you are today.
For many of my clients, particularly high-achieving adults and those who are neurodivergent or have experienced a later-in-life diagnosis, the things that appear successful on the outside can look very different internally. We may explore the impact of trauma, relationships, masking, emotional patterns, and the nervous system in a way that brings greater clarity to your experience.
You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a perfect explanation of what is wrong. My role is to help you make sense of what you are experiencing and identify where meaningful change can begin.
Our work is collaborative, discreet, and highly individualized. Rather than applying a predetermined formula, I draw from clinical experience and evidence-informed approaches to develop treatment around the person sitting in front of me.
The goal of your first session is simple: to leave feeling understood—and to have a clearer sense of where we go from here.
