Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. My name is Stephanie Skavdahl, and I am a licensed therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, understanding, and practical support. I believe that every person has unique strengths, and my goal is to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their concerns, build resilience, and work toward meaningful change.

I have experience supporting individuals facing a variety of life stressors, including anxiety, depression, adjustment to life transitions, relationship challenges, family concerns, stress management, and coping with difficult circumstances. My approach is client-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based, focusing on empowering clients to identify their goals and develop the tools needed to achieve them.

I am committed to meeting clients where they are and tailoring treatment to their individual needs. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult period, learning new coping strategies, or working toward personal growth, I strive to provide a therapeutic environment that fosters healing, self-awareness, and confidence.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and client-centered. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients can safely explore challenges, identify personal strengths, and develop practical skills to support growth and healing. I tailor treatment to each individual's unique needs and work alongside clients to help them build resilience, manage stress, navigate life transitions, and achieve meaningful personal goals.

What you can expect from me

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel both hopeful and nerve-wracking. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the moment we meet.

During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to therapy. You'll have the opportunity to share your concerns, current challenges, and what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process. We'll also talk about your personal history, strengths, support systems, and any experiences that may be influencing your well-being today.

This initial session is an opportunity for us to begin building a trusting relationship and to determine how I can best support you. You can expect a collaborative conversation where you set the pace, and there is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable discussing.

Together, we'll identify your goals for therapy and explore possible approaches that may help you move toward those goals. You'll also have time to ask questions about my approach, the therapy process, and what you can expect moving forward.

By the end of the session, you should have a clearer understanding of how we can work together and a plan for the next steps in your therapeutic journey.

My priority is creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel respected, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.
