A master's prepared Licensed Mental Health Counselor with extensive experience in the provision

of behavioral health services as both a clinician and clinical manager. My experience includes extensive work with Adolescents (age 12y-18y) and Adults.

Experience includes provision of services in all levels of care Acute/Hospital, Residential Treatment Center, Partial Hospital Program and Outpatient Counseling.

My approach to therapy

I have over 40 years' experience in the provision of clinical services. I utilize multiple clinical approaches base on the clinical need. I have a client centered view in developing a therapeutic relationship. I believe in creating an environment that ensures trust that allows understanding to each client's life experiences they present with in therapy. I have training and experience in various relationship model including Gottman Theory. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Theory with understanding of the life events and effect on one's perceptions and others. I utilize concepts of Dialectical Behavioral Theory including radical acceptance and wise mind concepts. Other areas of training and approach effective communication, family systems, Rational Emotive Therapy, Client Centered Trauma and Solution Focused Therapy.

What you can expect from me

Each client will be seen for an Initial/intake Session. The session will be provided in comfortable, secure and private setting. Time will be taken in the session to develop rapport to establish a therapeutic relationship. A review the Privacy Laws including HIPPA will be completed to ensure that clients fully understand privacy including limits of confidentiality in accordance Florida State Laws. A review of therapy, expectations and the process of treatment to ensure that client's full understanding and consent for treatment will be provided. A history will be obtained with focus on events and symptoms leading the client to seek treatment. This includes assessment of immediate stressor and other pertinent life history. A review of the client's symptoms will be discussed to ensure the proper level of care can safely be provided.

At the end of the session the patient's participation in therapy including frequency of visits.. There will be initial goals established as the areas to be addressed in the first 3 sessions.
