Great to meet you!

I am Stephen Bosco, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to helping people understand themselves more fully and move toward meaningful change. My approach to therapy is rooted in a belief that everyone has an innate capacity for growth and self-understanding. I believe in providing genuine care, respect, and curiosity as we work together to make sense of your experiences. I am drawn to this work because I value authenticity, connection, and empowering others to live in alignment with their values. I have worked extensively with veterans, LGBTQIA+ clients, and individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, identity questions, self-esteem challenges, and substance use.

My approach to therapy

The therapeutic approach is tailored to you and how you work best. Known for my blend of compassion, empowerment, and direct communication, I bring experience with diverse communities and a wide range of clinical needs. I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment where every client feels respected and supported, regardless of background or identity. In a typical session, you can expect a combination of open conversation, exploration of thoughts and feelings, and skill-building based on your needs. I am passionate about this work because I believe deeply in people’s capacity to grow and reach their full potential when supported with care and authenticity. We may also practice skills in session or between sessions. And there is room for humor, as therapy can hold both seriousness and lightness.

What you can expect from me

My approach to therapy is collaborative exploration. In the first sessions, I take time to understand each person’s story: who they are, what they have lived through, and what they want to work on. Typically, a session begins with a warm check-in about how you have been feeling since our last meeting. We might then talk through specific concerns or situations that have arisen, using open conversation, guided questions, and gentle reflection. For example, we may identify patterns in your thoughts or behaviors, discuss coping strategies, or set a small goal for the week ahead. Sessions are paced to your comfort, and clients can expect a supportive space where questions, insights, and emotions are all welcome. Together, we will identify the concerns that matter most and build a treatment plan that feels personal, intentional, and achievable.
