Great to meet you!

I am Steve Kittridge, a Psychotherapist; but the term therapy can be misleading. I've been using the term Coaching recently, as it more applies describes my role. I'm an independently (LCSW) and have been Licensed by AZ's Board since 2004. I am also certified as a Clinical Supervisor; with this credential, I supervise clinicians aspiring for their independent license. I am a 'well-seasoned' professional with a variety of experiences, across the continuum of care-acuity. Similarly, through the decades, I've enjoyed working with a wide scope of problems, encompassing almost every diagnosis and client profile (a client's age, gender, location, experience with therapy, severity, etc.)

My approach to therapy

As you may imagine, listening to others' life-challenges all day might lead to boredom or feeling overwhelmed. A few factors keep me plugged in and motivated: One phenomenon keeping sessions energized, is an absence of judgement or criticism toward a client. A desire to make a difference, to help others feel better and improve smooths out most rough spots. Natural interest in listening to others keeps me in the zone: their Story, perspective, and truth. Comments seeming commonplace to a client, or others, I often find amazing; it's their life, one of a kind.

What you can expect from me

Initially building a relationship and developing trust with each client is key. Clients always have control of topics or disclosing information or even talking; I've sat for sessions, listening, while a client cried and said only one sentence. I personally understand the strength required to trust, and being invited to listen is a privilege, and includes protecting client information.
