Great to meet you!

I’m Stephen, a Licensed Professional Counselor originally from New York City, now in private practice after several years working with youth and adults in Colorado. I specialize in helping people who are dealing with behavioral issues, anxiety, trauma, anger, and substance use. Outside the therapy room, I’m very active. I love beach volleyball, yoga, running, and calisthenics, all of which inform my strong beliefs about the mind-body connection.

My approach to therapy

I’m direct, curious, and not afraid to ask hard questions (once we’ve built that trust). I draw from an extensive background in yoga, meditation, and ACT to support greater cognitive flexibility and more values-driven choices. I often tell people to GO when they're questioning their life. I also specialize in EMDR for when deeper wounds or trauma have gone unprocessed for too long. Our work will be collaborative, based on what actually works for you. Whether we’re building new habits, destroying old ones, or just witnessing your life and growth, I will be fully in it with you.

What you can expect from me

I want you to leave sessions feeling more connected to yourself and more confident in your ability to make decisions—without me, and without needing anyone’s approval. Therapy with me is about honing your internal compass and learning to trust it. You can also expect to feel supported. I’ll be in your corner, paying attention, asking questions, and rooting for your growth - even when we're not in session.
