Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Stephenie Robinson, LPCC, founder of TheHairapist, and I believe healing is about caring for the whole person—not simply addressing a diagnosis. With a master’s degree in Counselor Education and experience in psychiatric and private practice settings, I provide affirming, empowering, and holistic care. I work with adults and adolescents navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, identity, relationships, stress, and emotional wellness, with a particular passion for supporting women.

Therapy with me is a collaborative space where we can explore your experiences, understand patterns, and develop practical tools to help you create meaningful change. If you’re ready to better understand yourself, heal from what you’ve experienced, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity, I’d be honored to support you.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and explore yourself without judgment. My style is warm, affirming, direct, and collaborative, and I balance validation with thoughtful questions and gentle challenges when they can support your growth. I use trauma-informed, holistic, and solution-focused strategies to help you understand the connection between your experiences, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical tools for everyday life. I especially enjoy helping women navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, relationships, life transitions, and emotional wellness. My goal is not to tell you who to be, but to help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and feel empowered to make changes that align with the life you want.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, comfort, and honesty. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our work together, while also exploring relevant parts of your history and background. I’ll ask questions to better understand you as a whole person, not just the challenges you’re experiencing, and we’ll begin identifying patterns, strengths, and areas you may want to work on. You can expect a space where you feel heard without judgment, while also being able to ask questions and share what you need from therapy. By the end of our first session, we’ll have a better understanding of where to begin and can collaboratively develop goals and a path forward that feels meaningful and manageable for you.
