Great to meet you!

With over 25 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas, I am committed to providing compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-informed care tailored to each client's unique needs. I hold bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, and I believe the counseling process works best when clients are active partners in setting goals and measuring progress.

I specialize in helping individuals navigate trauma, relationship and family concerns, grief and loss, and issues related to spirituality. I also work with clients who are trying to make sense of those experiences that may be considered paranormal or anomalous. My approach is open-minded, respectful, and nonjudgmental, creating a safe space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and work toward meaningful and transformative insight.

My approach to therapy

As a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), I view counseling as a collaborative partnership rather than a process in which the therapist simply directs treatment. I believe clients are the experts on their own lives, and meaningful, lasting change is most likely to occur when they are actively involved in every stage of therapy. Together, we identify concerns, establish realistic and measurable goals, develop individualized treatment strategies, and regularly evaluate progress. This collaborative approach promotes transparency, strengthens the therapeutic relationship, and empowers clients to take an active role in their own growth and decision-making. As therapy progresses, goals and interventions are continually reviewed and adjusted to reflect the client's evolving needs, strengths, and priorities, ensuring that the counseling process remains relevant, effective, and responsive.

What you can expect from me

I strive to create a counseling environment where clients feel respected, heard, and free to discuss their concerns without fear of judgment. Many people enter therapy feeling uncertain, anxious, or even skeptical about the process. My goal during our first meeting is to provide a safe, welcoming space where we can begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. Rather than making assumptions or rushing to conclusions, I approach each client with curiosity, openness, and respect for their unique life experiences, values, culture, and worldview.

During our initial session, you can expect a conversation focused on getting to know one another. I will ask about the concerns that brought you to counseling, your personal history, your strengths, and what you hope to accomplish through therapy. Just as importantly, I encourage you to ask questions about my approach and to share what has or has not worked for you in the past. Together, we will begin identifying your goals and developing a treatment plan that reflects your priorities and preferences. While the first session is primarily devoted to understanding your story and establishing direction, many clients also leave with practical insights, coping strategies, or a clearer understanding of the path forward. I hope that you leave the first appointment feeling heard, understood, and confident that we are working together toward meaningful change.
