Great to meet you!

I’m Steven Gittelman, a double board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and CRNA. . My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in both psychiatric care and advanced medical expertise.

I provide psychiatric medication management for individuals navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, and complex mental health concerns. I take time to understand the full person; not just a diagnosis. I work with each person to create a treatment plan that feels safe, clear, and individualized.

In addition to psychiatric medication management, I bring extensive experience in Ketamine Therapy for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and chronic pain conditions.

At Rocky Mountain Mind and Body, our team has performed more than 16,000 ketamine infusions, including care for patients with complex psychiatric needs, chronic pain, CRPS, neuropathic pain, and fibromyalgia. While ketamine therapy is not the right fit for everyone, I can help patients understand whether it may be an appropriate option as part of a broader treatment plan.

I also work with adolescents and adults and welcome people from all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences. My goal is to provide care that is clinically sound, trauma-informed, inclusive, and deeply respectful. Whether you are looking for medication support, a second opinion, or a more comprehensive path forward after other treatments have not helped, I would be honored to help you explore your next step.

My approach to therapy

I take time to understand each person’s history, symptoms, goals, medical background, and lived experience before making treatment recommendations. Psychiatric medication management works best when it is not rushed, so I focus on building trust, explaining options clearly, and creating a plan that feels both clinically appropriate and realistic for the person in front of me.

I also bring a unique perspective from decades of experience in anesthesia, psychiatry, ketamine therapy, and complex chronic pain care. This allows me to look at mental health through a broader medical lens, especially for patients who have not found relief through standard approaches.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, you can expect a thoughtful and unrushed conversation focused on understanding their full story. We will review current symptoms, mental health history, medical background, past treatment experiences, medications, goals, and any concerns about starting or changing treatment. I want you to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in the process.

From there, we will discuss possible treatment options, including psychiatric medication management and, when appropriate, whether advanced treatments such as ketamine therapy may be worth exploring. My goal is for you to leave the first session with a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to their symptoms, what options are available, and what the next step in care could look like.
