Great to meet you!

I’m Steve. I provide psychiatric evaluations and prescribe medications, with two years of experience in community mental health and a total of 14 years in the healthcare field. I work with adolescents and adults, seeing patients ages 16 and older.

I am available during late evenings Sunday through Thursday, as well as all day on Wednesdays, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Please check my schedule for specific appointment times. I look forward to connecting with you.

Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse on the inpatient psychiatry unit at UT Southwestern in Dallas. That experience strengthened my ability to communicate effectively with individuals experiencing mental health challenges and reinforced the importance of truly listening to each client’s perspective. I bring this compassionate, patient-centered approach into my practice to ensure every client receives thoughtful and high-quality care.

My approach to therapy

My approach to psychiatric care is centered on compassion, understanding, and individualized support. I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental environment where each patient feels heard and respected. By carefully evaluating symptoms, discussing treatment options, and collaboratively managing medications, I aim to help patients achieve stability, improve functioning, and enhance overall well-being. I believe in partnering with each person to address their unique needs and goals, supporting them every step of the way on their journey toward mental and emotional health.

What you can expect from me

During your first psychiatric session, we will take the time to get to know you and understand your concerns, history, and goals for treatment. I will ask about your mental health, medical history, current symptoms, and any medications you are taking. Together, we will discuss your experiences, explore what has or hasn’t worked in the past, and begin developing a personalized plan for care. This session is a safe, confidential space for you to share openly, and my goal is to listen, provide support, and start building a collaborative partnership to help you achieve better mental and emotional well-being.
