Great to meet you!

I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 16 years. I have also been an established Reiki Master/Teacher for over 20 years. In my early 30’s I began my journey into alternative healing. I started with neuromuscular therapy, and then Reiki. After practicing both, I realized most biological and etheric imbalances were caused by how humans think, and how they psychologically react to stressors in their environment. So, I went to grad school and received my masters in counseling so I could learn how to help heal the core of the issue rather than simply sooth the symptoms.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to healing is based on the theory that the environment in which we live is as unnatural to us as a Habitrail is to a hamster. The varying beliefs and rapid pace of our society can be confusing and detrimental to our health. Because we are not genetically designed to exist in such a world, we often experience mental, biological, and spiritual side-effects. These side-effects cause an imbalance in all aspects of our life, our sense of self, our perceptions, and how we relate to others, which can then create a negative state of being.

To help individuals rediscover their natural balance, I utilize a variety of therapeutic strategies, including EMDR, mindfulness, and my own timeline therapy. I’m also certified to practice different forms of bodywork including neuromuscular therapy and Thai massage. I’ve taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, and teach individual classes in meditation and Reiki. Each of these strategies help my clients to better understand themselves, their core beliefs, and how the framing of their experiences may be affecting them negatively.

What you can expect from our first session

As a counselor, I incorporate everything I’ve learned into my sessions in regards to caring for our mind, body, and spirit. Whether I am working with individuals, families, couples, or teens, I emphasize a non-judgmental approach to therapy in an effort to help you move forward in your life’s direction. I am accepting of all religions and cultures, as I believe we each have our own path. Through the therapeutic process, we work toward achieving the goals and outcomes we created at the beginning of our sessions, the purpose being to help you move forward.

After your goals have been achieved, our therapeutic relationship would be an "in case of emergency brake glass" scenario, unless you want to work on a different issue.
