Great to meet you!

I am a down-to-earth, supportive, nonjudgmental, and open-minded Board Certified Psychiatric NP. I began my work in psychiatric care as a registered nurse treating patients in various hospital settings who were experiencing a mental health crisis. For a more rewarding 1-on-1 approach, I returned to grad school and earned a Masters, and chose to become certified as a Psychiatric NP. I am honored and fortunate to have the opportunity to manage medications for kids and adults with ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar, Panic, Sleep problems, and other ailments from a place of encouragement and respect and based on an ever growing library of peer reviewed scientific literature and medical treatment guidelines.

My approach to therapy

I view our alliance as a team, involving the client in as much of the decision making process as possible depending on their comfort level.

What you can expect from me

The first session is always about getting to know each other, bonding, building bilateral trust, and becoming comfortable with each other. Much of the first session (or two sometimes) involves a simple yet comprehensive data gathering, assessment of the information, and possibly the formulation of diagnosis(es) depending on the patient's symptoms and holistic health. Then, if appropriate, we'll develop a mutually agreed upon medication treatment plan based on the latest scientific consensus, which will be molded with the intention of assisting the client in an improvement of symptoms and functionality through medication management.
