Great to meet you!

I have been in practice for over thirty years.

Most of my career was with the VA where I saw Veterans with combat and complex PTSD and substance abuse issues. My last years of public service were on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation. I have utilized EMDR (as well as other cognitive-behavioral methods) to treat trauma for most of my career, and have more recently added the Internal Family Systems approach to helping clients move forward.

My approach to therapy

It has been my experience that listening actively is the foundation for any therapeutic relationship. Any crisis situation that is active needs to be stabilized before the hard work of permanent change can start. Coming from a trauma-informed approach, I will be working with you to explore patterns of thinking and behaving that are inconsistent with your values and goals.

What you can expect from me

My hope is that your sessions with me will give you an experience of comfort and hope, but also a degree of challenge to move toward the change(s) you are seeking.
