Great to meet you!

I’m a psychotherapist and school social worker with graduate training in clinical social work and experience supporting adolescents, adults, and families. As a first-generation Mexican American therapist, I understand how culture, family, identity, and community can shape both our strengths and the challenges we carry.

I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD and executive functioning difficulties, trauma, relationship stress, identity concerns, and major life transitions. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you can feel understood, build practical skills, and move toward meaningful change without having to separate your mental health from the cultural and personal experiences that have shaped you.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I use evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and skills drawn from DBT. Together, we will identify patterns, build practical tools, and explore how your relationships, culture, identity, and environment influence your well-being.

Therapy with me is supportive but active. I will listen with care, ask thoughtful questions, offer honest feedback, and help you translate insight into changes that feel realistic. I also believe there is room for warmth, humor, and authenticity in the healing process.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We will talk about what has been happening, what you hope will change, and the experiences, relationships, and strengths that may be important to your care.

You will not be expected to share your entire story at once. We will move at a pace that feels manageable, review confidentiality and the therapy process, and begin identifying a few initial goals together. By the end of the session, I hope you feel heard, have a clearer sense of how we might work together, and know that therapy will be something we build collaboratively.
