Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Sue, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Registered and Board-Certified Art Therapist with over 25 years of experience.

I work with adults in every phase of life who are navigating anxiety, depression, major life transitions, or relationship struggles. Many of my clients may seem to have it all together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves on the inside.

Using CBT, DBT, and holistic health approaches, I help clients quiet anxious or self-critical thoughts, build practical skills for managing big emotions, and reconnect with their bodies and overall well-being. My goal is to help you move forward with more clarity, confidence, and self-trust at this phase of life. I value a goal-oriented, solution-focused approach, drawing from evidence-based therapy practices, expressive therapies, and holistic health.

I am also a certified yoga teacher (20+ years) and support clients to self-regulate their nervous system in a way that works best for them outside of our therapy time. This can be through creative expression, gentle movement, mindfulness, breathwork, etc. These practices greatly support our overall well-being and self-care.

When not working, I enjoy being with my family, hiking with my dog Wren, and being in nature as much as possible.

My approach to therapy

I use a gentle, collaborative approach to help you explore your thoughts without judgment. while exploring patterns that may be getting in the way of symptom improvement. This is a space completely free of judgment where you can be exactly who you are.

Together, we will create a collaborative space where you can process your struggles, explore your strengths, challenge thoughts, beliefs and patterns holding you back from living a more balanced life, and safely move towards growth- at a pace that feels right for you. I will encourage you to stay present in self compassion while implementing thoughtful reflection, and utilizing evidence based tools specific to your needs.

Coming to therapy is an act of self love. I value your time and commitment to becoming a better version of yourself.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is all about making you feel safe, heard, and comfortable. We are just getting to know each other, and developing trust with a therapist can take time. We will start with conversation about what brought you here now, and what you hope to gain, and your goals. Then we will figure out the path forward together. My main goal for our first hour is that you leave feeling heard, respected, and hopeful about the journey ahead.
