Great to meet you!

Summer Lawson, now practicing through Psyched and Collaborative Psychiatry of Ohio, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with dual graduate degrees from The Ohio State University — MSN in Psychiatric Mental Health and MSW in Clinical Social Work — and over two decades of experience across the full continuum of psychiatric care. She has practiced in emergency departments, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, eating disorder programs, HIV behavioral health, community mental health, and private concierge practice. She served as Chief of Psychiatry and Medical Executive Committee President during the COVID-19 pandemic at an 80-bed inpatient hospital and as Director of PMHNP Services for an internationally recognized neurobiological eating disorder program. She is a former NCAA varsity athlete and team captain. Summer specializes in neurocognitive optimization, ADHD across the lifespan, burnout and stress physiology, mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders and disordered eating including orthorexia, hormonal transitions including perimenopause, and complex comorbidity. She serves executives, physicians, attorneys, founders, and high-performance professionals. Formerly practicing at Equitas Health and The Center for Balanced Living dba The Emily Program.

My approach to therapy

Precision over volume. Summer's clinical approach is diagnostic, individualized, and evidence-driven — informed by two decades of experience across every level of psychiatric care. Appointments are structured and clinically efficient. Pharmacotherapy decisions are grounded in evidence and tailored to your physiology and professional demands. Functional medicine options are incorporated where clinically indicated to address root causes rather than just symptoms. Coordination with therapists, primary care providers, dietitians, and specialists is welcomed and supported. Discretion, continuity, and clinical excellence are non-negotiable. This is not volume-based behavioral health. It is precision psychiatric medicine designed for the high-responsibility professional who cannot afford to operate below their best.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation — not a checklist, not a rushed intake. Summer will take time to understand your full clinical history, your current challenges, your professional demands, and your goals for care. You will leave with a clear diagnostic impression, an individualized treatment plan, and a direct sense of what the path forward looks like. If pharmacotherapy is indicated, Summer will explain the reasoning, the options, and what to expect. If functional medicine or lab work is relevant, she will discuss that too. You will not be handed a prescription and sent on your way. You will be heard, assessed with precision, and given a plan that makes sense for who you are and what you do. An optimal mind. An optimal life.
