Great to meet you!

I am a university professor and licensed psychologist with over 15 years of clinical experience providing evidence-based assessment and treatment for a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I work with adolescents and adults and have extensive experience helping clients navigate emotional distress, life transitions, and trauma-related symptoms.

In my academic role, I serve in a clinical psychology doctoral program where I train and supervise future therapists in evidence-based practice and clinical skills development. My scholarly work includes over 20 peer-reviewed publications and more than 40 international conference presentations focused on mental health, psychotherapy processes, and trauma-informed care.

My approach to therapy

My approach integrates clinical science with real-world practice, emphasizing collaborative, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care. I primarily use ACT, CBT, and DBT to provide structured, supportive treatment that includes practical tools and reflective dialogue. Therapy focuses on building insight, emotional flexibility, and skills that can be applied in daily life to support meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, you can expect a collaborative and structured conversation focused on understanding you concerns, current symptoms, and relevant personal and clinical history. We will begin building a shared understanding of what brings you to therapy and identify initial goals for treatment.

I also take time to explain my approach and answer any questions about the therapy process so you know what to expect moving forward. The first session is paced to establish comfort and rapport while beginning to identify practical next steps and potential treatment strategies tailored to your needs.
