Great to meet you!

Congratulations! Seeking help is a courageous move, and you've taken the first step! Don't dismiss it, it says a lot about you. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) based in Northwest Indiana, and hold a license in clinical professional counseling (LCPC) in Illinois, as well. I received a Master's degree in Counseling from Purdue University Northwest, and have been providing counseling for over 12 years.

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, I work to build your trust by creating an environment where you feel safe, accepted, understood and heard, with no judgement. I believe in the strength of diversity and inclusion for all. I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) where you are provided with techniques that will help you develop greater insight into the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Ultimately, becoming a mentally healthier and happier you. And what about the strengths, abilities, values, and resources you already possess, I want to help reunite you with them, and work, together, to allow yourself to acknowledge and embrace ALL of who you are, so not to sabotage yourself in self-negativity.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will begin with brief introductions and I will offer that you share what has brought you to therapy, at this time. A better part of this session will, largely, focus on gathering general information about you. You may share only that which you feel comfortable sharing. The purpose of the next few sessions is to begin developing rapport and trust, and to gather information that will help in your treatment, going forward. I am here to listen, support, guide, and provide you with skills that will help you work through whatever it is you are experiencing. We will work, together, to achieve success!
