SUSAN FRAUENHOLTZ

Welcome! My name is Susan Frauenholtz and I am a licensed clinical social worker in Iowa, Virginia and Utah. I know that reaching out for help can be a difficult first step and will do everything I can to help you feel comfortable along the way. I have an MSW and PHD in social work and have been providing therapy for more than 20 years. If you or your child have been feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, or have experienced loss and finding it difficult to cope I would love to work with you. My areas of focus are anxiety and trauma, grief and loss, and supporting women in becoming their best selves.

My general approach to the therapy process is to create a warm and supportive emotional space where you feel comfortable to express feelings and worries and be your most genuine self. I am very strengths-based and work to identify traits within you that can be part of the solution.

I have advanced training in the treatment of anxiety and trauma in both children and adults. I am certifed in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and also utilize EMDR, an evidence-based technique developed to treat trauma and a variety of other issues. In addition, I have specialized training in coping with grief and loss.

I seek to create a warm and welcoming relationship with clients to foster and environment that leads to personal growth and positive change. Whatever it is you are struggling with, we will work together to create solutions and develop confidence to move forward and live your fullest life.
