Great to meet you!

I work with a full range of clinical issues, including anxiety, depression, stress and sexual/gender identity. A key area of focus is providing effective therapy to clients who are dealing with suicidal thoughts, engaging in self-harm or striving to cope with the tragedy of losing a loved one to suicide.

My work is informed by my own experience; I became a therapist after losing my husband to suicide. After trying and failing to find a mental health professional who understood my experience, I decided to become one myself.

My approach to therapy

I use a trauma-informed approach that draws from psychodynamic, cognitive, and somatic therapies.

What you can expect from me

No single approach is appropriate for every client but everyone I work with can expect to be met with warmth and consideration , and a genuine desire to help.

But responding to someone who is active crisis differs dramatically from how I would approach someone who has been dealing with trauma for years, which in turn, would be very different from how I might work with someone who is frightened and anxious because they retrieve key memories from the recent and/or distant past.
