Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in helping children and families navigate challenges related to trauma, attachment issues, adoption issues, school issues and family issues. I specialize in using play therapy and have my RPT. I also use sandtray work and I am trained in EMDR and Theraplay Level 1. I have over 20 years of clinical experience.
I believe children do best when they have a healthy attachment with their primary caretakers. Although I focus on psychotherapy with children, I am a very strong believer in parent and sibling involvement when indicated. I generally use a child centered play therapy as it allows children through the use of play to feel more empowered and develop their own sense of self and self expression.
I have a warm and inviting play therapy office. Children and families are encouraged to use whatever tools they find in the office to play and express their feelings. Children and families are encouraged to work through challenges together and find solutions through the work they do in the playroom.
