Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Susan! Some things you carry quietly for years, telling yourself you should be able to handle them on your own. For more than two decades I have sat with adults and older adults as they work through anxiety, depression, grief, and the questions that come with big life changes. I offer therapy in both English and Farsi, and I care deeply about the way culture, family, and identity shape what we struggle with and how we heal.

My approach to therapy

I believe each of us already carries the capacity to heal, and that the right support helps us find it. Together we will look for the strengths you already have and figure out how to lean on them when things feel heavy. My hope is that you walk away understanding yourself more clearly, feeling steadier in your relationships, and more at home in who you are. I consider it a genuine privilege to be part of someone's journey toward feeling whole again, and that sense of honor shapes how I show up in every session. This work tends to fit people who are ready to be honest with themselves and open to seeing their own resilience.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really just a conversation. There is no pressure to have the right words or to share more than you feel ready to. Mostly I want to understand what brought you here and what you are hoping for, and to get a sense together of whether we are a good fit. If any part of you is wondering whether it is time to reach out, I would be glad to hear from you whenever you feel ready.
