Great to meet you!

My educational background is as follows: I have a BS in Child Development, a M Div. in Theology and a MA in Counseling Psychology. I have worked with the developmentally disabled and their families both in a social work role then later, as a therapist in my private practice. I also have experience with the LGBTQ community and have supported cleints in gender affirming care. I have also worked extensively with women's issues including life transitions from high school into adulthood and beyond. I am respectful of client's religious and/or spiritual needs and support clients in nurturing their belief and practices.

My approach to therapy

My approach to counseling is that it is a collaborative relationship where the client is the expert on their life. We bring our expertise together to help the client achieve their goals. Everyone is unique so therapy is personal and unique for each client. I use a variety of approaches that meet the clients needs including Buddhist psychology, humanistic psychology, psychodynamic. CBT and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I want clients to feel respected and valued in the therapeutic process. I love my work a a therapist and feel privileged to be a part of others lives that supports their healing. My work as a therapist has been both broad with regard to the clients I see and deep in the healing work.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about getting to know you and giving you the opportunity to ask questions of me that are important for you. The first session is also the time to gather history about what brought you into therapy at this time, as well as your goals for therapy.
