Great to meet you!

There are times in life when our ability to cope is no longer sufficient to get us through a difficult passage or challenge. This can leave us feeling anxious, depressed or lost. Therapy with me can help you develop coping skills, build resilience and heal. I am passionate about walking the healing journey with you while focusing on supporting your strengths.

I am a committed Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 22 years’ experience. I apply my training in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing to help you recover and develop your natural capacity to experience well-being and live a full, healthy life.

I hold a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Regis University in Denver as well as a Masters in Philsophy from Boston College.

My husband and I have raised an adopted daughter from Guatemala. It has been the privilege of a lifetime. The family expanded further recently and welcomed three canine friends! One is a loving service dog named Phoebe, the Golden Doodle. Sue enjoys hiking with Phoebe and cycling with her husband on our gorgeous Colorado trails.

My approach to therapy

I have a calm, encouraging and affirming style. I seek to help you discover your strengths and find your "North Star". I specialize in Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and Couples Counseling.

What you can expect from me

In our first session I seek to listen deeply to your concerns in like. If time permits, I will share some gentle tools for self-regulation. We will then discuss options for a Path Forward including modalities that sound appealing to you, your goals for counseling, as well as frequency of therapy sessions.
