Great to meet you!

Have you been feeling overwhelmed, conflicted, or simply worn down by everything life is asking of you? Maybe you’re dealing with relationship or family conflict, struggling to make sense of a major life change, or carrying emotional pain that you’ve been trying to manage on your own. I’m Susan Katz, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience working with children, adults, couples, and families. My own professional life has taken many different paths, including education, ministry, corporate leadership, and social work, which has given me a broad perspective on the many ways life can challenge us. I bring that perspective into therapy with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be caring, collaborative, and tailored to the person sitting across from me. Rather than relying on one approach for everyone, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, mindfulness, visualization, and other techniques depending on what you need. Our work may focus on changing patterns that are keeping you stuck, improving communication and relationships, working through emotional wounds, or finding healthier ways to respond to stress and conflict. My goal is to help you gain insight, build on your strengths, and move toward greater emotional health, connection, and satisfaction in your life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know you and understanding what has brought you to therapy. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we meet. I’ll listen to what you’re experiencing, ask thoughtful questions, and work with you to begin identifying what you want to change and what may help you get there. Most importantly, I want you to feel that you are talking with someone who sees you as a whole person, not simply a diagnosis or a problem to solve. If you’re ready to feel less overwhelmed, improve your relationships, or create a different path forward, I invite you to book a free consultation and let’s see if we’re a good fit.
