Great to meet you!

I have a PhD in Psychology and I am a registered LCSW. I have completed academic research in trauma, bullying, and sex education; I have had numerous academic papers published; and have lectured on trauma at the UCF Burnett Honors College. My approach in therapy is grounded on a strong theoretical understanding, yet is person centered. I use knowledge of the body’s autonomic response to threat or safety, as the foundation for therapy.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I help people deal with the after-effects of traumatic experiences ranging from single events to chronic trauma. Sometimes we find it hard to cope with stressful life experiences, relationships, or a traumatic event. We feel overwhelmed, vulnerable and unable to see what our options are. Our coping mechanisms become exhausted and no longer function effectively. I use a person centered approach in therapy, individualized to each person's unique needs and strengths.

What you can expect from our first session

I deeply respect the unique experiences and path taken by each client, and I aim to address both cognitive and body-based memories. In therapy, I aim to assist clients to understand their behaviors, identify and use their own strengths, and to develop better coping skills. Personal growth is a lifelong journey to find our authentic self (and our unburdened parts).
