Great to meet you!

Dr. Susan provides a compassionate, nonjudgmental atmosphere where clients feel emotionally safe to share their struggles. She works with individuals from pre-teen through adulthood, welcoming clients of all races, gender orientation.

With many years of experience addressing a wide range of issues, she draws from both traditional counseling methods and alternative approaches tailored to each individual’s needs.

Alongside her professional expertise, Dr. Susan integrates the wisdom gained through her own challenging life experiences that drove her to gain resilience and growth. She supports clients in navigating relationships—including family, friends, and couples—and helps them manage life challenges, build meaningful connections, embrace their authentic selves, and cultivate the confidence to achieve their goals.

Dr. Susan also values the body’s innate ability to support mental health and teaches clients how to access these internal resources, which may reduce or prevent the need for pharmaceuticals in managing their well-being.

My approach to therapy

I use a blend of traditional and alternative therapeutic methods, grounded in the understanding that OPTIMAL mental health involves the whole person: Mind, body, and spirit. I pay special attention to the gut-brain connection and the role it plays in energy, happiness and emotional resilience. Relationships, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, alcoholism.

What you can expect from me

Before your first appointment, you are welcome to speak with me by phone so we can determine whether my approach aligns with your needs. Our initial session allows me to understand you better and explore what you are looking for in therapy. You will be welcomed by my therapy dog named Owen. During this session, I will explain how my services can support you in achieving your goals.

I provide a space where you can openly describe your experiences—without fear of judgment or concern about affecting someone else’s thoughts or feelings. This process helps you gain clarity, see situations from a new perspective, and make choices that are truly in your best interest.
