Great to meet you!

Thanks for your interest in counseling. I became a therapist after a career as a journalist, with the goal of helping people heal and grow after suffering with situational or chronic anxiety and depression. Neuroscience teaches us that most peoples' brains can change through old age. I teach my clients to recognize and challenge old, distorted thoughts and subconscious beliefs about themselves using mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT, ACT, DBT). I also focus on helping clients recognize feelings and where their emotions show up in their bodies, and ways of releasing unwanted energy.

My approach to therapy

We will use insight-oriented and accountability practices to help you remain productive and to challenge thoughts, coping patterns, or unconscious beliefs that may be keeping you stuck or in limbo.

What you can expect from me

We will work in a calm, nonjudgmental way to help you use your innate strengths and skills, and to build new practices that work for you.
