Great to meet you!

Hello. Thanks for reading about me. I’m a warm, down to earth psychologist with a passion for helping people. Staying present focused, we will center on keeping your hopes and dreams up front, while reducing distress in the context of a solid and genuine therapeutic relationship. We will work to enhance your understanding of the barriers that are keeping you from achieving your goals and learn skills to turn that understanding into strategies to better overcome them. While there is no quick fix to most problems, I use proven strategies (such as CBT and DBT) that will help you experience relief and progress relatively soon.

My approach to therapy

I help adults (18+) manage major life issues/transitions such as depression and anxiety; substance use; medical illness (cancer and HIV); relationships; loss/grief; and job stress. Especially with young adults I have expertise in gender identity and coming out, living on one’s own, intimacy, time management and work/school stress.

What you can expect from me

I want to encourage you that by reading these therapist profiles, you have already started the process of personal growth and positive change. I would welcome the opportunity to take the next step and explore the possibility of being your therapist. Please feel free to call or email so we can connect and see if I am the right fit for you at this time.
