Great to meet you!

I'm Susana, a bilingual LCSW with over 20 years of experience working alongside adults and seniors during the moments that matter most: loss, illness, major life change, and the quiet overwhelm that builds when you're holding too much for too long. Before focusing on psychotherapy, I spent years as a medical social worker, which means I understand what it's like to navigate the healthcare system while also carrying real emotional pain, and I know how to help you do both. I offer sessions in English and Spanish, entirely via telehealth, so wherever you are in California, consistent care is within reach.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative. I pull from trauma-focused CBT, narrative therapy, ACT, and psychodynamic work based on what fits you, not what fits a formula. One thing clients consistently tell me is that they appreciate feeling seen for their strengths, not just their struggles. That's intentional. I believe the insight and resilience you need to move through hard things are already in you, my job is to help you access them, and to offer honest, compassionate feedback when old patterns are getting in the way. Therapy with me is collaborative. You'll always have a voice in where we go and what we work on.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a real conversation, not an intake checklist. I'll share a bit about how I work, and I'll ask what brought you here, but mostly I'm listening. By the end, you'll have a clear sense of whether we're a good fit, and I'll have a genuine picture of what matters most to you right now. Clients often describe me as calm and easy to talk to, and I take that seriously, showing up for a first therapy session takes courage, and I want that effort to feel worth it.
