My approach to therapy

Drawing from her extensive experience across diverse settings, Dr. Castellanos provides compassionate, evidence-based psychological services tailored to the unique needs of each individual she serves.

She has experience in treating a variety of mental health issues including mood disorders, PTSD and personality disorders. She practices evidence based treatments including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)), Prolong Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) (Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and collaborative environment during their first session. The initial appointment is focused on getting to know the client, understanding their concerns, and learning about their personal history, strengths, and goals for treatment. Dr. Castellanos will conduct a comprehensive assessment to gain insight into the challenges the client is facing and discuss how therapy can help address their needs.

The first session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions, share what they hope to achieve through therapy, and determine whether the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit. Together, Dr. Castellanos and the client will begin developing a personalized treatment plan designed to support meaningful growth, healing, and lasting positive change.
