Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Susi Blitman, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 19 years of experience supporting children, teens, and adults through life’s challenges. I believe that everyone deserves a space where they feel understood, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, trauma, or difficulties in your relationships, I understand that these experiences can affect how you see yourself, connect with others, and manage everyday life. You may be feeling overwhelmed, struggling to understand your emotions, or trying to find a path forward during a difficult season. My goal is to help you feel supported while discovering your strengths, developing healthier ways to cope, and building greater confidence in yourself. I strive to create a warm, approachable, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable showing up as you are, knowing that your experiences matter and that we’ll work together toward changes that feel meaningful to you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and personalized to your unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we’ll explore how anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and stress may be affecting your emotional well-being and everyday life while creating space to better understand yourself and what you need to feel more balanced. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you recognize unhelpful thought patterns and develop practical strategies for managing difficult emotions, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to strengthen emotional regulation and distress tolerance, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to identify your strengths and build achievable steps toward change. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can help you navigate difficult feelings while staying connected to your values, while Positive Psychology can support you in recognizing your abilities and cultivating a greater sense of meaning and fulfillment. When helpful, I may also incorporate strengths-based and somatic approaches to support self-awareness, coping, and a stronger connection between your emotional and physical well-being. Whether we’re working through longstanding concerns or navigating a recent challenge, our sessions will be collaborative and tailored to your needs, helping you build skills, overcome obstacles, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, talk about what has brought you to therapy, and begin exploring what you hope to gain from our work together. You’ll have space to share your concerns, experiences, and goals at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You don’t need to have all the answers before we begin; we’ll work together to understand what matters most and identify a direction that feels right for you. As we continue, you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where your experiences are respected and your voice is valued. We’ll work together to develop practical coping skills, recognize patterns that may be contributing to distress, and build on the strengths you already possess. Whether you’re managing anxiety or depression, navigating relationship difficulties, processing trauma, or supporting a child or teen through emotional and behavioral challenges, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you feel supported throughout the process. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience, and we’ll adjust our work as your needs and goals evolve. Together, we’ll focus on helping you feel more confident, connected, and equipped to navigate life’s challenges with greater understanding and resilience.
