Great to meet you!

Mental health diagnoses are largely based on your self-report and lived experience, so it is important to be open about your symptoms, concerns, and goals. The more accurate and honest the information, the more precise and effective the treatment plan can be.

I am bilingual and provide care in both English and Spanish. I have 20 years of experience in psychiatry and use a culturally sensitive approach that respects each person’s background, values, and identity. If faith or spirituality is important to you, I am comfortable incorporating a faith-informed or spiritually integrated perspective into treatment when desired.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is based on trust, collaboration, and respect. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential for effective treatment. I provide evidence-based care, listen without judgment, and involve patients in shared decision-making. Treatment plans are individualized, culturally sensitive, and focused on both symptom relief and long-term wellbeing. I prioritize safety, transparency, and open communication so patients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their care.

What you can expect from me

During evaluation, You will be asked many questions to better understand your symptoms, history, and goals for treatment. Some questions may feel personal. You are always in control of what you choose to share. You may say, “I prefer not to answer that,” or “I need a break,” at any time.

Your thoughts, questions, and concerns are important and valid. I value honesty, and I will approach this conversation with empathy and without judgment.

*If medication is recommended, we will discuss options together. Treatment decisions are collaborative, and we will review benefits, risks, side effects, and alternatives before starting anything.

Treatment may include therapy, medication, lifestyle changes, or a combination of these. Medication is not required, but it can be an important part of treatment when appropriate.

Everything we discuss is confidential, except in specific situations required by law, such as if there is risk of harm to yourself or others, or concerns about abuse of a vulnerable person. I will always try to discuss those situations with you first if they arise.
