Great to meet you!

My name is Susie Lilliana Gamboa and I am a bilingual and experienced marriage and family therapist with five years of clinical practice. Holding a Master of Science from California Baptist University, I utilize my education as well as my lived experience to bring in a client-centered, strength-based approach to foster healing and growth. I have a proven history of effectively treating diverse populations, including the LGBTQ+ community and various minority groups such as the Black and Hispanic communities. I am currently accepting new clients for individual, couples and family therapy.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is fundamentally client-centered and strength-based. This means I prioritize meeting you exactly where you are in your journey, recognizing the wisdom and resilience you already possess.

I believe in the inherent goodness and capacity for growth within each individual. My role is to create a non-judgmental, deeply empathetic, and safe space where you can feel secure enough to share your deepest trauma, secrets, or vulnerabilities without fear of criticism. True healing often begins where we can fully acknowledge our pain in a supportive environment.

What you can expect from me

The first session is primarily focused on getting to know you and establishing a foundation for our work together. You can expect a conversation that is supportive non-judgmental, and focused on clarity.

We'll dive into specific challenges that brought you to therapy. This includes understanding your current symptoms, how they impact your daily life and relationships, and any relevant history. Since I use a strength-based approach, we'll also talk about what's going well, the personal resources you already have, and what keeps you going.

Most importantly, we'll discuss your hopes and what you want to achieve through therapy. what does success look like to you?

By the end of the session, we will have collaboratively begun to outline a preliminary plan tailored to help you start moving towards those goals. You should leave the first session with a clear sense of what our work will entail and feeling hopeful about the process.

My aim is for you to feel heard, understood, and comfortable taking the next step on your healing journey.
