Sussi has been practicing mental health counseling for over 20 years. She grew up in the Bronx, New York. She is fluent in Spanish and English. She has two Masters degrees, one Masters in counseling and the other in Education, with an emphasis on Special Education.
Sussi utilizes different therapy approaches. She doesn't tie herself to one specific approach. She blends elements from different approaches and tailors the treatment according to each client's needs. The therapy style she uses the most are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered, and spiritual/holistic, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness and Family Therapy.
Clients will feel encouraged and supported in a non judgmental environment during therapy. They will be better able to make changes and transitions. Clients will be able to decrease feelings of depression and anxiety. My therapeutic approach is to provide you with a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your past, present, and future. I combine techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and meditation into my sessions.
