Great to meet you!

My name is Suzanne Boyd, I am a license Professional Counselor in Texas. I earned a M.A. in Psychology from Texas Southern University. I have worked in the education field for 8 years as a special education teacher and as a School counselor. I am a therapist who have working experience in behavioral hospitals treating adults and children patients with mental illness and in crisis. I've worked in settings such as mental health clinics, in patient and out patient, and forensic residential facilities. The mental health field is a significant passion of mine because of the growing need in many communities. As a therapist, I focus on providing a safe environment for exploring how your own individual thoughts and emotions can be challenged to think more clearly.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is person-centered, collaborative support and trauma informed. I tailor treatment to each individual's goals, drawing from evidenced-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, and mindfulness. Now, I am providing therapy for adults with mental or behavioral heath concerns. I offer group or individual services for court ordered, anger management, domestic violence, and IOP/SOP services. Together we can create a space to connect to your wider self making room for the parts of you that feel hidden or in conflict.

What you can expect from me

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. You can expect to be welcomed into a safe supportive and nonjudgemental environment where you feel heard, understood, and respected. It will be solution focused and communicated in a language that is easy to understand and created in a manner for you to be successful.
