I offer a great deal of empathy to women who are experiencing turbulence in their life. My own transition from a stay-at-home mom of four, to juggling school, and then a renewed career as a divorced single mom, gives me the insight to support others through the process of healing, gaining self-confidence, setting a direction, and moving forward. I also enjoy doing couples work. I have a background in clinical social work and Psychoanalysis. Most of my professional experience has been in private practice.
Everyone's story is unique, and every person deserves an individualized approach to their problems. I use an eclectic approach which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Interpersonal, and supportive counseling. Some clients benefit from short term therapy during a crisis. Others choose long term therapy to address deep-seated issues, such as trauma, Depression, Anxiety, or 'feeling stuck' in life.
My hope is each client walks away from their session feeling safe, heard, and supported. I want my clients to view our therapeutic relationship as a partnership. Our common goal is their personal growth, and relief from distressing symptoms and/or life stressors. Further, I hope each session illuminates a new perspective on an issue, or promotes awareness of their own strengths and emotional resilience.
