Great to meet you!

I am Suzanne Morrison, LCSW. I have always believed that even in our most painful moments, there can be space for meaning, growth and yes, even laughter. One of my favorite movie quotes is from Steel Magnolias, when Dolly Parton’s character says, “Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion.” It truly captures the bittersweet truth that sometimes, the most healing moments come wrapped in both sorrow and joy. As a therapist, I walk alongside people navigating transitions (grief, loss, and identity shifts) holding space for both the tears and the laughter that often surprise us along the way!

My approach to therapy

I use a strengths-based, individualized approach rooted in compassion, perspective shifting, and practical tools. My hope is that you will leave our time together feeling lighter and more grounded whether from a new coping strategy, a powerful insight, or simply the relief of being understood. My background includes years of experience in hospice care, sitting bedside with patients, supporting families through anticipatory grief, and later walking with them in bereavement. I have also worked extensively with adolescents and adults navigating complex life stories. These experiences taught me that people are imperfect, relationships are complicated and there is no “right” way to grieve.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like stepping into uncharted territory. You may be here because life took a turn you did not see coming, or because everything you thought you knew no longer feels solid. Whether you are grieving a person, a job, a relationship, or even a version of yourself, I want you to know that you do not have to navigate alone. My approach is both supportive and gently challenging. I will be here to listen and nurture and also to nudge you toward new ways of thinking and being that can bring light into your darkness. In our sessions, we will take things one step at a time. Maybe we start with what is hardest right now, or with what has been tangled up inside for a long while. That is why I offer space for all of it the love, the regret, the confusion, and the hope!
