Great to meet you!

I am Suzanne Graupner Pike, PhD--I'm a California licensed clinical psychologist with over 40 years direct experience working with a wide-variety of populations in mental health and corrections. Along with depression, anxiety and grief/loss, I specialize in treating addictions--chemical and behavioral: alcohol, drugs, shopping, internet, social media, video games and gambling. I'm a California Certified Gambling Counselor and a forensic-trained expert witness in gambling for both the California and Federal courts.

I am also trained by the Veteran's Adminstration/Department of Defense in the specialized treatment of post-traumatic stress disorders using an effective cognitive-based brief treatment that has proven to be highly effective and non-invasive called Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD (Sloan and Marx).

My approach to therapy

My style is active, empowering and affirming-- whether it be to help achieve recovery from an addiction or to gain freedom from the effects of a trauma. For me, therapy is a partnership where we work together to find or create solutions to problems in living.

What you can expect from me

I begin with where you are--and you tell me where you want to go or what you want to achieve. You set the pace. From the beginning to the end, I've got your back. Forming trust is a huge factor as a successful therapeutic outcome is based on trust and communication.
