Great to meet you!

I believe that endeavoring to improve our emotional quality of life takes bravery. However, we must acknowledge asking for mental health support has been culturally counter intuitive for generations. Reaching out for counseling and consultation is the first and most important step. I received both a bachelors and masters degree in social work and have been working specifically in mental health since 2011. I prioritize normalizing and validating that feelings are meant to be felt and we all go through hard times.

My approach to therapy

I work with a wide range of individuals and diagnoses including psychosis, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression and PTSD. I am an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) certified therapist and use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with clients to address, manage and alleviate symptoms.

What you can expect from me

I work to meet people where they are at. I do not believe in rushing the therapeutic process or taking a prescriptive approach. However, I do compassionately challenge my clients to explore the issues that led them to my practice. There is a quote from poet Robert Frost that " the only way out is through".
