Great to meet you!

I obtained my B.A. in Human Development, Adult and Gerontology, from California State University, East Bay and my Master of Social Welfare, Clinical Concentration, from UCLA. I have worked in community mental health and medical settings as well as providing individual therapy with adults. The issues I treat include depression, anxiety, life transitions and career concerns.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is one of collaboration with my clients, working on the concerns that are important to them. I use a combination of strategies that target a client's specific needs. I believe that we all encounter challenges in our lives that cause distress; I provide coping skill techniques, problem-solving and a supportive environment to tackle these challenges together.

What you can expect from me

In our initial "intake" session, I will first provide privacy legal requirements, confidentiality information, and cancellation policies. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your symptoms and how long you have been experiencing them. I will collect background information from you including what your childhood was like, who comprised your family and any notable challenges you experienced growing up. We will briefly discuss your symptoms, medical/mental health history, your relationships and an overview of your personal life. Next, I will ask you to name 1 or 2 goals you would like support with in therapy. Finally, you will have an opportunity to ask me any questions you might have and we will then set the day/time/frequency. for our sessions
