Dr. Swaminathan Thangaraj is a double board certified child & adult psychiatrist. He is currently an assistant professor at Drexel College of Medicine. Prior to private practice, he joined the medical staff at Sheppard Pratt, Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Thangaraj provides medication management and therapy with a warm, empathetic approach.

Expertise includes autism, ADHD (children & adult), anxiety, depression, OCD, insomnia, and eating disorders.

All appointments are virtual by using a secure telepsychiatry platform.

What you can expect from me

Screening Phone Call: 5-10 minutes to assess what treatment you are seeking. (This is not the appointment)

Intake Visit: 45 minutes- 1 hour: diagnostic assessment of current symptoms, past history, and prompt treatment.

Follow Up Visits: 20-30 minutes. At minimum required every 3 months to maintain open chart. For controlled substance refills, an appointment is required for every refill.

Please note, no shows / late cancellation (within 24 hours) will result in a penalty fee of $100.
