Great to meet you!
My medical journey began in Bangladesh, where caring for patients with serious illnesses showed me how deeply physical disease affects emotional well-being. This early experience shaped my commitment to compassionate, whole-person mental health care.
I went on to complete a PhD in Molecular Biology at Gifu University in Japan, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. I later completed my Psychiatry Residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, as well as a fellowship in Clinical Neurobiology and Major Psychosis.
Clinically, I treat a wide range of conditions, including mood and thought disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, personality disorders, and ADHD in both adolescents and adults. I have a strong interest in cultural psychiatry and in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, recognizing the unique experiences that shape mental health across cultures, identities, and family systems.
My approach is grounded in empathy, active listening, and collaborative care. I aim for every patient to feel understood and supported, with clear, individualized steps toward healing, resilience, and long-term well-being.
