Great to meet you!

Counseling is a process of building relationships, and for the past 30 years, I have been building relationships across a wealth of life-experiences: as a teacher and life-long learner, an administrator in higher education and healthcare, a parent of adult children, a daughter with a complex upbringing. I value creating a safe space for clients to examine unhealthy patterns of behavior and belief, and to develop the mindfulness and resilience to engage opportunities for change.

My approach to therapy

During times of uncertainty and rapid change, it's important to stay connected, self-aware, and grounded. I'm available to help you process changes and challenges, and to find balance and perspective as you experience and learn to better manage stresses around the "new normal" of our daily lives. Therapeutic approaches include cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, psychodynamic, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused interventions.

What you can expect from me

From a collaborative, person-centered, and strengths-based perspective, I work with clients to tap into strengths, confront challenges, and build resilience, unpacking and understanding life experiences in order to foster emotional growth and well-being. My intention in each session is for clients to feel heard, respected, supported, and challenged in ways sensitive to and respectful of each person's history.
