Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Sylvia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, relationship challenges, major life transitions, and questions about identity and self-esteem. Many are capable and high-functioning on the outside, but privately exhausted, stuck in patterns they can’t seem to change, or sensing something is off even when life looks “fine” on paper.

I earned my degree from the University of Chicago and have been in practice for over six years. My work is informed by both clinical training and lived experience, and I help clients make sense of the patterns keeping them stuck, so meaningful change becomes possible.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that people are not broken. The patterns that keep us stuck are often ones that once helped us cope. Ways of staying capable, keeping the peace, achieving, or not needing anyone can quietly become part of how we see ourselves, even when they are no longer serving us.

I integrate traditional talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and somatic, nervous system-informed approaches to help you understand not just why you think and feel the way you do, but how these patterns developed, what they have been trying to protect, and what it takes to create lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what’s been feeling difficult, what you hope will be different, and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

My goal is for you to feel heard and supported, and leave with a clearer understanding of where we can go from here. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.
