Great to meet you!

I want my clients to know that they will be met with compassion, respect, and understanding, never judgment. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) who may be struggling with overwhelming thoughts, persistent sadness, difficulty concentrating, managing daily responsibilities, or navigating life's challenges. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns and know that your voice matters. I take a personalized approach to care, offering comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and education about your mental health and treatment options. I believe in open communication, collaboration, and involving you in decisions about your care. You do not have to navigate these challenges alone. Together, we will work toward understanding your symptoms, identifying your goals, and developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs. My hope is that you feel heard, empowered, and supported as you work toward improved mental health, confidence, and quality of life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based, with a focus on helping adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and ADHD. My clinical experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner includes comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, mental status examinations, diagnostic assessments, medication management, monitoring treatment effectiveness and side effects, and developing individualized treatment plans.

During sessions, I use motivational interviewing through open-ended questions, reflective listening, affirmations, and collaborative goal-setting to help clients explore concerns and identify meaningful goals. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-informed techniques to help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and develop practical coping strategies. I also use supportive interventions to address stressors and psychoeducation to explain symptoms, diagnoses, medication benefits and risks, and available treatment options. I consistently integrate these methods with trauma-informed principles, shared decision-making, and evidence-based medication management. I monitor symptoms, treatment response, side effects, and progress toward goals, adjusting treatment plans when clinically appropriate. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, informed, and actively involved in their care. My goal is to help each individual improve symptom management, strengthen daily functioning, and achieve greater emotional well-being and quality of life.

What you can expect from me

Your initial appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment. During this first session, we will discuss what brought you to care, your current concerns, mental health and medical history, and your goals for treatment. I will ask questions to better understand your experiences, but there is no pressure to share everything at once. Your comfort, privacy, and well-being are important. Our session will include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, a review of your symptoms and relevant history, and a discussion of your treatment goals. We will explore appropriate treatment options, which may include medication management, coping strategies, and additional support. You will have time to ask questions, express concerns, and participate in decisions about your care. We will begin by discussing your concerns and history, move into an assessment of your symptoms and treatment needs, and conclude by reviewing recommendations and establishing next steps together. Your personalized treatment plan will reflect your individual needs and preferences. You do not need to have all the answers or know exactly where to begin. Simply showing up is a meaningful first step. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward improved mental health and well-being.
